SMITH, Ronald George

Plane was a Beaufighter A19-163 which crashed and caught fire just after take off in the waters off Broome. The aircraft was on an operation to provide protective cover for other aircraft. F/ Sgt Ronald Smith and Ronald Kerrigan were killed.In 2014 the wreckage of the aircraft was found and a memorial was erected at Cable Bay, Broome near where the plane crashed.
