POW Italian/German. WIA and shot down in Libya - held at Campo 65 and Campo 57 then Stalag Luft 111 then Stalag Luft 1VB. POW number 225687 RTA.Plane was a Bristol Bombay L 5811 which was to collect staff and exchange aircrew at Msus. The aircraft was hit by an explosive shell from the ground and exploded near Msus, Libya. Jack was wounded and became a POW at the hands of the Germans and Italians.
