Plane was a Beaufort A9-173 Bristol bomber which had left Geraldton airport for Carnarvon. The plane was fully loaded and it appears the pilot was unable to climb above the fog and on the way back to the airfield and crashed into a hill at Yetna. Eight crew were killed.
