KING, Kenneth John

Operation Karlsruhe Reason for Loss Homebound, lost power from the starboard inner engine and the order to feather the unit was given. Moments later the remaining three engines failed and though the crew were ordered to abandon, only the Air Bomber managed to get clear before the Lancaster fell at 22:48 near Signy-l'Abbaye (Ardennes), 23 km WSW of Charleville-Mezieres. Six of the crew were killed.
