DARCEY, William Jack
Warrant Officer William Jack Darcey was posted to No 4 OTU at Alness in N.E. Scotland for training on Sunderland Flying Boats. After training he was posted to 461 SQN at Pembroke Dock South Wales. He crewed in Sunderland aircraft which were engaged in anti-submarine patrols in the Bay of Biscay. Darcey completed 61 sorties with 461 SQN attacking German U-Boats in the Atlantic. Later Darcey was posted back to OTU Alness as a signals briefing instructor until the war ended in Europe.
